The purposes of the Society are to:

  1. Act as a co-ordinating body for co-operative marketing campaigns involving some or all regional film commission and liaison offices and the BC Film Commission.

  2. Act as a communication network to facilitate efficient and effective presentation of potential locations throughout British Columbia;

  3. Set operational standards and criteria for regional film commission and liaison offices;

  4. Co-ordinate training and professional development opportunities for regional film commission and liaison offices.

  5. Act as communications network to provide regional film commission and liaison offices with access to the expertise of the BC Film Commission.

 

Membership requirements:

  • A maximum of two Regional Film Commissions in each of the regions including the Lower Mainland. The BC Film Commissioner will act as an Ex-officio Director without voting privileges.

  • Must be an AFCI member and AFCI certified within 2 years after acceptance as a member of the Regional Film Commission of BC.Must commit to coordinating requests for location information, packages, scouting and surveys for the region.

  • Must have Film Pilot expertise, and resources to support and populate Film Pilot to the satisfaction of the British Columbia Film Commission.

  • Must commit to being the Film Pilot coordinator for your region.

  • Must have a permanent business address - not a home based business.

  • Must have a minimum of 1.5. paid full time equivalents, working on business related to the film commission.

  • Must have evidence of consistent municipal and regional financial support.

  • Each Regional Film Commissioner will be allotted on vote with the exception of the BC Film Commissioner who is an Ex-officio Director without voting privileges.

  • Exception to the above criteria may be made in a region where no other regional film commission meeting the criteria is available to provide support for the region.
